2014 Ford Escape Backup Camera Not Available. They did not fix but checked connections. If it does come back to life, you know it’s going bad.
However, if i were to guess, i am thinking bad solder joints, not sure where the cameras cables plug in, but that would be my first check after the wiring. I shift into reverse and the camera works but sometimes the picture goes away, the screen goes black and i get an error message that says something to the effect of backup camera not available, please contact your dealer I reset the system three times now and it still isn’t working properly.

Had to a shop for service and mentioned this. Thanks for the wire routing input, but maybe the problem isn't in the video circuit, but in a switch or sensor which tells the camera circuit that the transmission is in reverse. It happened about a it happened about a month ago.
